In accordance with the essence of Canadian Blood Services' Corporate Statements and its mission to operate Canada's blood supply system in a manner that gains the trust, commitment and confidence of all Canadians, Canadian Blood Services recognizes the importance of public access to information.

In keeping with this commitment, Canadian Blood Services has adopted two policies; the Protection of Personal Information Policy, that governs the collection, use and disclosure of personal information and the Freedom of Information Policy that facilitates public access to non-personal information retained by Canadian Blood Services regarding the management and operations of the blood system.
